  Piles are due to swollen veins in the rectum and lower part of the anus. These growths are of different sizes and are situated in different locations. When piles are situated inside the rectum, they are called internal piles. Internal piles are usually not detected upon external examination. Sometimes an external pile may grow and protrude outside of the anus during passing stool and is known as a prolapsed pile. Sometimes piles form small lumps on the external edge of the anal ring and are called external piles.   Reasons for causes of piles   There are several reasons which are responsible for piles.
